The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has strongly criticized the reported arrest of former Kampala Lord Mayor and lawyer Erias Lukwago, describing the move as an act of intimidation and a violation of fundamental human rights.
Speaking on behalf of the party, FDC officials expressed concern over what they termed increasing pressure on opposition figures and legal practitioners associated with political cases. The party called for adherence to the rule of law and respect for constitutional freedoms, urging authorities to ensure that citizens’ rights are protected at all times.
FDC further appealed for Lukwago’s immediate release and emphasized the need for democratic principles and justice to prevail in the handling of political and legal matters.
