Chief of Defence Forces and head of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) on Monday appointed Twalla Fadil as the organisation’s new secretary-General replacing Kasambya County MP Daudi Kabanda.
“The new General Secretary of PLU is Hon.Fadil Twalla. I will work closely with him to achieve our objectives. I thank Hon.Kabanda for his 3 years of excellent service. He set the standard high for the position,” Gen. Kainerugaba wrote in a post on X.
Fadil, also the MP for Tingey County has previously served as PLU’s coordinator.
“I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you, my Chairman for the trust and confidence you placed in me by appointing me as the pioneer General Secretary of PLU. It has been a great honor to serve,” Kabanda wrote on X.
Kainerugaba said that Kabanda would keep his position as a member of the central committee of the PLU. Ministers Frank Tumwebaze and Kiryowa Kiwanuka, as well as parliament speaker Oboth Oboth were also named members of the organ.
The others are Alan Kasujja, Sanjay Tanna and Kwame Ruyondo.
Kainerugaba gave no reason for the changes.
