President Yoweri Museveni presided over the swearing-in of Justice Moses Kazibwe as Deputy Chief Justice today, filling the vacancy left by Chief Justice Flavian Zeija’s elevation to Chief Justice in March 2026.
Museveni commended the judiciary’s progress in fighting corruption, embracing alternative dispute resolution, and using digital tools to deliver justice more efficiently.
The 62-year-old judge, with over 30 years of experience from Makerere University law graduate to Court of Appeal justice, will now lead those courts and support administration.
Initial responses celebrated the appointment as a boost for rule of law and public trust.
