Szczesny: ‘I think I’ve broken the Guinness World Record for most trophies after retirement’

Wojciech Szczęsny has won the La Liga title for a second time with Barcelona and openly expressed his delight after securing another championship, speaking to Eleven Sports.

“I think I’ve already broken the Guinness World Record for the player with the most trophies after retirement. I’m very happy about that. I already have five, and I’d like to get to nine. I still have four to win in my final season,” Szczęsny said.

“The emotions are the same whether you’re playing or not. You’re happy when you win, sad when you lose, and you’re incredibly happy with every trophy. The adrenaline rush is a bit different, but I’ve had an abundance of it in my life, so I really enjoy the last two years of my career as a supporter, not the main character.

“I won’t deny that for the first time in my life I’m playing with a goalkeeper who is much better than me . On the one hand, it’s a bit damaging to the ego, but on the other, it’s much easier to accept that my job is to support him, not compete with him, ” he added.
