The Inclusive Africa Conference 2026 opened today in Nairobi, hosted by inABLE.org, bringing together policymakers, tech leaders, and advocates to push for digital accessibility for all.

Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary Hon. William Kabogo Gitau kicked off the event, highlighting national initiatives including the Digital Superhighway and a new ICT accessibility standard.

More than 300 delegates from over 40 countries are attending in person, with thousands more joining online. Sessions feature youth stories, tech showcases from Microsoft and Meta, and calls from UN agencies for equitable digital development across the continent.

The conference underscores a growing push to ensure AI and emerging technologies serve everyone — including persons with disabilities — as Africa accelerates its digital transformation.
