Wojciech Szczesny has jokingly explained why his teammate Robert Lewandowski should consider retiring from football.
“First of all, I never gave him any advice. Secondly, if he did ask me, I’d probably tell him to retire because, based on my own experience, an incredible offer might come your way afterwards,” the 36-year-old said with a laugh.
Szczesny, who came out of retirement to join FC Barcelona earlier this season, admitted that football can often take unexpected turns and that players can never be completely certain about what comes next in their careers.
“To be honest, you never really know what the future holds. I suspect Robert himself still doesn’t know where he’ll be playing next season,” the Polish goalkeeper added.
