What appeared to be a gesture of goodwill from veteran musician Jose Chameleone has been politely rejected by fellow singer King Saha, who has distanced himself from plans to stage a concert on December 4, 2026.
The development follows a letter issued by Chameleone, born Joseph Mayanja, announcing that he had voluntarily relinquished his booking of Lugogo Cricket Oval for his highly anticipated Chameleone Unlimited concert.
The venue had reportedly been secured and fully paid for by the Leone Island boss.In the communication addressed to Kings Love Entertainment, a company associated with King Saha, Chameleone stated that his decision was made in the interest of promoting harmony within Uganda’s entertainment industry.
He also authorised the venue management to transfer the booking to Saha’s camp, a move widely interpreted as an effort to avoid a potential concert clash.
However, King Saha has clarified that he neither requested nor intends to take over the date.In a statement titled “Clarification Regarding 4th December 2026 Event Dates,” the singer stressed that he has no plans whatsoever to organize a concert on the date initially booked by Chameleone.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state that I have no intention whatsoever of organising or holding a concert on the same date, 4th December 2026, in competition with or alongside Jose Chameleone’s event,” Saha stated.
The Zakayo singer emphasized that he remains committed to maintaining respect for fellow artists, promoters, and entertainment stakeholders. He added that any future concert plans from his camp would be pursued independently and in a manner that promotes unity rather than rivalry.
Saha’s response effectively declines what many viewed as an olive branch from Chameleone. While the Leone Island boss appeared willing to make way for his fellow artist, Saha has chosen to step away from the discussion entirely.
The latest exchange once again highlights the complex relationship between the two musicians, whose careers have been marked by mentorship, mutual admiration, competition, and occasional public disagreements.
For now, December 4 remains without a King Saha concert despite Chameleone’s decision to vacate the date. Attention now shifts to whether Chameleone will announce a new date for Chameleone Unlimited or if another promoter will eventually secure the Lugogo Cricket Oval booking.
