Uganda middle-distance star Halimah Nakaayi is set to test her endurance in the 1500m at the upcoming Absa Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi. The 2019 world 800m champion says the race will help her assess her fitness and identify areas for improvement as the new season begins.Nakaayi, who holds Uganda’s national 800m record, is stepping outside her comfort zone to challenge herself over a longer distance. She trains alongside elite athletes, including Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon, which she says motivates her to improve daily.This will be her fourth appearance at the Kip Keino Classic. She previously competed in the 800m, finishing second in 2021. Nakaayi says Kenya feels like her second home.
