Media personality Sheilah Gashumba has praised A Pass, describing him as one of the most professional, disciplined, and talented male artists in Uganda’s music industry.
Sheilah made the remarks after booking the singer for Guvnor’s Saturday Night Fever, an experience she said completely changed her perception of live performances in Uganda. In a social media post shared after the event, Sheilah applauded A Pass for his dedication and work ethic, revealing that the singer exceeded expectations without needing constant supervision or reminders.
According to her, the “Tuli Kubigere” hitmaker personally promoted the event on his social media platforms, recorded promotional drops without being asked, and arrived at the venue an hour before his scheduled performance fully prepared.Sheilah further revealed that A Pass came with his own music technician and performed using live instrumental sound instead of relying entirely on playback, something that impressed both organisers and fans.
Many revellers at Guvnor reportedly praised the singer’s performance, with his vocals and stage presence becoming one of the highlights of the night.“Everyone was happy and complimenting his performance. A Pass deserves his flowers. BOOK HIM!” Sheilah wrote. The praise was later acknowledged by A Pass, born Alexander Bagonza, who reposted Sheilah’s message on his social media platforms and expressed gratitude for the recognition.
The exchange sparked conversations online, with many social media users agreeing that professionalism and discipline are qualities often lacking in Uganda’s entertainment industry.Over the years, A Pass has established himself as one of Uganda’s most versatile musicians, blending dancehall, reggae, Afrobeat, and soulful melodies into his music.
He rose to fame through songs such as “Tuli Kubigere,” “Wuuyo,” “Bartender,” “Didadada,” “Gamululu,” and “Mariana.”The singer has also earned recognition for his songwriting skills, having written music for fellow Ugandan artists including Bebe Cool.
Last year, A Pass staged his first major concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel, where he showcased his musical journey through live instrumentation and energetic performances.Sheilah Gashumba’s endorsement has since reignited discussions about professionalism, discipline, and consistency in Uganda’s entertainment industry, with many fans arguing that talent alone is no longer enough for long-term success.
