Church of Uganda Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu has defended his approach to national issues, urging leaders to embrace obedience, love, and calm engagement instead of confrontation. Speaking at St John’s Church, Makerere, during the installation of Rev Can Micheal Mukhwana as archdeacon, Kaziimba said meaningful change can be achieved quietly. His remarks follow criticism from activists and leaders who accuse clergy of silence on human rights abuses, including abductions and illegal detentions. Kaziimba, however, cautioned against loud criticism, saying it may not always yield results. “I’m not your saviour, I’ve a life to live,” he told critics, emphasizing a personal and strategic approach.
