Dar es Salaam — The National Sports Council (NSC) Sports Awards are set to take place in May, celebrating Tanzania’s top athletes and teams for their performances in 2025.
Now in its fourth edition since launching in 2022, the awards have expanded from 20 to 21 categories, with a new addition recognising veteran sports journalists.
Awards Committee Chair Mkumbukwa Mtambo said the initiative aims to reward excellence in international competitions and boost national sporting standards.
Nominees must be Tanzanian citizens proposed by their respective sports associations, with proven performance in international events during 2025.
Categories include best male and female athlete, young athletes, para-athletes, national and club teams, coaches, referees, sports journalists, and a people’s choice award.
