Ugandan songstress Sheebah Karungi has informed court that she will not physically attend the upcoming mediation in her legal dispute with Team No Sleep (TNS), opting instead for a virtual appearance.
Through her lawyers, SM & Co. Advocates, the singer cited planned travel ahead of the May 22 mediation at the High Court.Her legal team emphasized that Sheebah remains fully committed to the process and requested permission for her to participate online to avoid delays. The case involves TNS Entertainment Limited, led by Jeff Kiwa, against Sheebah and Ziki Holdings Pvt Limited.
The dispute traces back to Sheebah’s highly publicised exit from TNS, a label that played a major role in her rise to fame. What was once a successful artist–manager relationship later deteriorated, leading to contractual and financial disagreements that escalated into legal action.
The ongoing mediation at the High Court of Uganda aims to help both parties reach an out-of-court settlement. Observers say the outcome could influence future artist–management contracts in Uganda’s music industry, particularly on issues of rights, revenue sharing, and exit terms.
