Dancehall singer Yung Mulo and his fiancée, Brenda Kahima, have taken another important step towards marriage after holding a private Kukyala ceremony as part of their traditional marriage preparations.
The ceremony, held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, brought together close family members and friends as the couple visited Brenda’s aunt, commonly known as the Ssenga, in accordance with Buganda customs.During the intimate gathering, customary items were presented and discussions were held, marking a significant milestone ahead of their official traditional introduction ceremony.
The development comes just weeks after Yung Mulo, whose real name is Kasim Lubega, publicly announced his intention to formalise his relationship through the “Okugamba Obugyenyi” ceremony. At the time, the singer appealed to friends and well-wishers for support as he prepared for the next chapter of his life.
The successful Kukyala ceremony now brings the couple closer to their official introduction, which is expected to take place in Buwaate.Known for his energetic dancehall performances, Yung Mulo joins a growing number of Ugandan entertainers embracing cultural traditions by publicly celebrating customary marriage ceremonies.
