Political analyst Andrew Mwenda has intensified criticism of President Yoweri Museveni, arguing that age and fatigue are affecting his decision-making. In a recent opinion piece, Mwenda claims the president is increasingly approving questionable projects pushed by opportunistic individuals close to power.He cites large sums of public money allocated to ventures whose economic value has been widely questioned, including pharmaceutical and infrastructure projects. Mwenda warns that limited scrutiny and reduced openness to opposing views have created room for costly decisions.He argues that concentrating funds in a few high-risk investments exposes the country to major losses, suggesting broader support to smaller enterprises could yield better outcomes. The claims have sparked debate about accountability and economic priorities in Uganda.
