Ugandan artist Joshua Baraka has issued a strong warning to creatives, urging them to deepen their skills as artificial intelligence continues to reshape the industry. Speaking during an appearance on Okay Africa, Baraka noted that AI is no longer a distant idea but an active force capable of producing music, designs, and content with ease. He stressed that surface-level knowledge is no longer enough, as machines can now replicate basic creative work.Baraka emphasized that creatives must go beyond the basics and truly master their craft to remain relevant. He explained that the competitive edge has shifted, with originality, depth, and authenticity becoming more important than ever. As AI lowers the barrier to entry, he warned that those who fail to evolve risk being replaced, making it essential for artists to adapt and refine their skills in a rapidly changing creative landscape.
