Uganda is considering stopping the export of raw coffee to promote local processing and create more jobs. Officials say the move will help farmers earn more by adding value through roasting, packaging, and branding coffee within the country. Trade between Uganda and China has grown, offering a strong market for processed coffee, especially among young consumers. Leaders believe investing in local factories and technology will boost industrial growth. The government is encouraging partnerships with foreign investors to support this shift and strengthen Uganda’s economy.
