A public disagreement has erupted between Ugandan musicians Omega 256 and Cindy Sanyu over the sharing of royalties from their collaborative song, See You Tonight.
The dispute began after Cindy Sanyu accused Omega 256 of claiming ownership of the song and altering what she believed should have been an equal royalty-sharing arrangement.
Cindy also alleged that she financed the production of the track while Omega’s contribution was limited to recording vocals.In response, Omega 256 strongly denied the allegations and challenged Cindy to provide evidence to support her claims.
She maintained that the accusations were false and had negatively affected her reputation and music brand.Omega expressed disappointment over the situation, saying she had always considered Cindy more than a colleague and had defended her in various media interviews.
She added that she never expected such accusations from someone she regarded as a friend.The fallout has sparked widespread discussion among music fans on social media, with many debating issues of song ownership, royalties, and transparency in the music industry.Neither artist has announced plans for mediation or legal action, leaving fans waiting to see whether the pair will resolve the matter privately or continue their dispute in the public eye.
